Incentive rebates are used by companies as a way to promote new products or to thank customers for their loyalty. The most common incentive rebate is the mail in rebate. With the mail in rebate, you purchase something at a certain price and when you mail in the rebate, you get cash back off the regular price. Personally, I’m not a big fan of rebates because it feels as if I’m not getting a real discount. And sometimes I forget to mail in my rebate, which becomes a waste of money in the end.
Another type of incentive rebate is the type the government offers in the form of tax credits. For example, if you want to green your home, the federal, local and state government now offers tax credits to homeowners who purchase energy-efficient appliances or who make eco-friendly improvements to their homes. This relieves the tax burdens of homeowners who want to be more environmentally-friendly. The government offers tax credits to small businesses that make efforts to hire new workers and especially military veterans. This incentive rebate helps small businesses want to hire more people so the economy can improve.
Incentive rebates are excellent for business owners because this gives them an idea of which items are the best sellers and which ones need to be promoted more. When business owners give incentives to customers, the customers feel appreciated and they’ll tell others about this company. For the government, incentive rebates are a way for them to get citizens on board with certain policies and ideas.
